This scratching post was easy to assemble and had some options for more than one way to put it together. It is attractive to my kitty and she decided almost immediately that it was okay for her. You do need to make sure that there aren't any staples or loose pieces that could become a problem but overall, a good post that offers some options for play.

This cat scratching post is very well made and was a snap to assemble. My two cats had been scrtaching their claws on an old couch which will soon be disposed of. We did not want them to start scratching other furniture so we and the cats are trying out the new scratching post. At first, the cats did not pay it much attention and kept scratching the old couch. I rubbed some catnip on the cording, but they sniffed it and went back to the old couch. I tried attracting them with the two attached toys. One cart showed mild interest. The other cat turned up his nose. But, now, ten days in, the lead cat is using the post and the other cat is copying him. Both cats are indoor/outdoor cats and need their claws to survive in the neighborhood cat pecking order and territory disputes. Fortunaately, the lead cat is the boss of the territory around our house. It's nice to watch them play and learn this new toy.
